Warhorse Studios, maker of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, says attackers got into its systems and accessed company data

Czech game developer Warhorse Studios posted on Oct 27 that it "has been hit by a cyber attack" and is working with outside security specialists. Its fuller statement says the incident involved unauthorized access to company systems and to company data. CEO Martin Frývaldský called it "a serious incident" and said the priority is securing systems and protecting employees, partners and the community.

The studio has not said when it happened, how the attackers got in, what data was touched, whether anything was encrypted or stolen, or whether there is a ransom demand. Czech outlet Novinky reports the studio is coordinating with the relevant authorities. No group has claimed it so far. Warhorse is working on a new Kingdom Come game and a Lord of the Rings RPG, so leaks of unreleased game material are the obvious risk; employee data could also be involved.
