### Japan's Medley suspends @link healthcare system and patient app after unauthorized access

Medley Inc. (TSE: 4480) said it confirmed third-party unauthorized access to @link, its business-support system for medical clinics, the @link patient app and related services, and suspended them from late on Oct 14 to investigate and contain the incident. Its TDnet disclosure says patient personal information may have leaked and that up to 787 medical institutions could be affected; the leaked data items, facilities and number of people are still under investigation, and no restart date is set. Medley has reported to Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission and consulted police. It adds to a run of Japanese breach and ransomware disclosures this month.
