### IDC Frontier: no data exfiltration found in IDCF Cloud attack; backups recoverable for 194 of 495 affected customers

In its fifth report (Oct 14) on the unauthorized access that has disrupted part of its IDCF Cloud East Japan Region 1 (tesla, henry, pascal and joule zones) since about 3:40 AM JST on Oct 7, Japan's IDC Frontier says it and an outside security firm found no sign that data inside customer virtual servers was viewed or taken, and it has concluded no data leaked. Of 495 affected companies and municipalities, the 194 that used the snapshot feature can have backup data extracted; restore options are being worked out with each customer, after earlier saying recovery looked difficult. Attackers did make unauthorized lookups of portal registration data for 48 customers (company names, portal login IDs, password hashes, notification email addresses and monthly fee totals), with no sign that it was taken out. Other zones and regions were not disrupted and are still being checked. The company has not named an attacker; findings come from IDC Frontier and its contracted firm.
