Mozilla launches Firefox Enterprise with a self-hosted admin console, starting in DACH and France
Mozilla announced Firefox Enterprise on Oct 12: the Gecko-based browser plus a management console customers run on their own infrastructure. It centrally manages browser policy and access, data movement through the browser, and controls on AI use, and is built to sit alongside existing IdP, SIEM and MDM. Mozilla pitches it on "sovereignty" and on reducing dependence on Chromium/WebKit. Initial sales focus is France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with Thunderbird Enterprise in development. For defenders, it gives the enterprise-browser market (Chrome Enterprise, Edge for Business, Island, etc.) a non-Chromium option where policy control stays on-prem.
