Bank of America: 1,000 contractors still patching software after Anthropic Mythos exposure

In a CNBC interview after Bank of America's Q3 earnings (Oct 14), CEO Brian Moynihan said the bank added 1,000 third-party contractors in Q2 โ€” still on staff as of the interview โ€” on top of about 3,000 internal people patching proprietary and vendor software flaws exposed by frontier models including Anthropic's Mythos (limited release to banks, tech firms and agencies in April 2026). He told analysts the bank spent a "couple hundred million plus" in Q3 on software remediation combined with AML-related regulatory work, and expects remediation spend to decline once the backlog clears. Separately he cited about 130 internal AI projects with savings expected to rise from $300 million this year toward $700 million in 2027. This is a corporate cost/response story, not a new Mythos vulnerability disclosure.
