Cyber incident at contractor BAE Systems halts the federal Bankruptcy Noticing Center nationwide
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts said on Oct 15 that a cybersecurity incident affecting BAE Systems IT has knocked out the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC), which BAE runs for the judiciary and which produces and sends bankruptcy notices for every federal bankruptcy court. bnc.uscourts.gov, bankruptcynotices.uscourts.gov, notices.uscourts.gov and the National Creditor Registration Service are all unavailable, and notice production has stopped. Individual courts report the disruption began around Oct 9 and are issuing general orders that extend deadlines; CM/ECF electronic filing notices still go out. BAE is investigating. Nobody has said publicly whether data was taken or who was behind it.
