Ahold Delhaize confirms its outage was a cyberattack and files a Dutch police report; US e-commerce still coming back
Update Oct 19: Ahold Delhaize says its investigation confirmed the suspicious activity detected around Oct 12 "resulted from the malicious actions of others", and it filed a formal police report with the Dutch police on Oct 19 (it had notified the Dutch NCSC within 24 hours). Taking systems offline as a precaution hit the websites and apps of most of its brands in Europe and the US; stores stayed open. Albert Heijn's site and app are back with home deliveries expected from Friday, Oct 23; Etos and Gall & Gall sites are up; Belgian e-commerce is fully restored; Ahold Delhaize USA brands' e-commerce is expected back "in the coming days". The company still says it has no evidence so far that sensitive customer, associate or partner data was taken, and it has not described the attack type, an actor or whether ransom was involved.
